
The Kebbi state government has re iterated its continued support to all security agencies that are involved in the current fight against banditry and insurgency in the state.
The Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi gave this assurance when he received the Director of Defence Information Brigadier General TI Gusau who paid him a courtesy call in his office in Birnin Kebbi today.

The Commissioner outlined the critical support in logictics, allowances and intelligence support which the Kebbi state Governor Dr Nasir Idris has always provided to the security forces since his assumption of office two years ago. He said the government will be untiring in its assistance so that more effort will be put into the fight against bandits.
He advised the Defence Headquarters to organize a town hall meeting with critical stakeholders such as transitional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, youth groups and the likes in order to establish far reaching synergy that will provide intelligence to the security forces to make their job easier.
Alhaji Ahmed Birnin Kebbi pledged his Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with the Defence Information to organize the town hall meeting to leverage on the grassroots appeal of the natural leaders to curry the support of the people.

Brigadier General Gusau had earlier informed the Commissioner that he and his entourage were in the state to see the impact of collaboration they had entered into with some media houses as a way of reaching out to the people to improve Army/Public Relations as it relates to the fight against banditry in the state and the North West as a whole.

He emphasized the importance of working together with the civil populace in all theatres and epicenters of war against violent crimes in the country.
He commended Governor Nasir Idris for his unwavering support to the military, pointing out that the support had played an important part in the successes recorded so far in the fight against banditry in Kebbi state.
He emphasized the appreciation of the Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa to the Kebbi state government for its commitment to the restoration of peace in Kebbi state in particular and the North West in general.
