The Governor of Kebbi State, His Excellency Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has restated his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, security, and overall well-being of Corps Members posted to the State.
Governor Idris, represented by his Deputy, His Excellency Senator Umar Abubakar (Tafidan Kabi), made this known while presiding over the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Dakingari, Suru Local Government Area, on Friday, September 26, 2025.
In his address, the Governor warmly welcomed the Corps Members on behalf of the people of Kebbi State, assuring them of an enabling environment to ensure a memorable and productive service year.
He emphasized his government’s continued support for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), describing the scheme as a vital instrument for fostering peace, unity, and national integration.
Governor Idris further urged the Corps Members to participate actively in all camp activities and to uphold the ideals of the NYSC. While reiterating his administration’s commitment to their safety, he also charged them to remain vigilant and be the first line of security for themselves.
Justice Hassan M. Kwaido swore the Corps members on behalf of the chief Jugde Kebbi State.
Earlier in his remarks, the NYSC Kebbi State Coordinator, Alhaji Bala Dabo Kagarko, commended the Corps Members for their enthusiasm and swift adaptation to camp life. He also lauded the Kebbi State Government for its consistent support to the scheme and expressed optimism that such cooperation would continue to strengthen the NYSC’s mandate in the State.
The event featured several highlights, including a spirited Tug of War presentation by the Man ‘O’ War, the hoisting of the National and NYSC flags to officially signify the commencement of the orientation exercise, and the presentation of NYSC souvenirs to the Governor by the State Coordinator.
