The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has commended the giant strides recorded by Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, particularly in strengthening security and transforming the state’s infrastructure in the last two years.
The commendation came on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi when the leadership of the Forum paid a historic courtesy visit to the Governor at Government House,Birnin Kebbi.

Speaking during the visit, ACF Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), Alhaji Dalhatu Waziri Dutse, said the Forum was impressed with the Governor’s achievements in improving security and executing numerous developmental projects across the state.
He explained that although ACF is non-partisan, it plays a key role in Nigeria’s political activities by protecting the interests of the North, a mandate it has pursued since its establishment 25 years ago.
Dutse praised the Governor for supporting security agencies, which he said had significantly boosted the fight against insecurity in Kebbi.
Also speaking, the ACF Chairman, Mr. Mamman Mike Osuman, SAN, lauded Dr. Idris’ bold steps in tackling banditry and other security challenges, while pledging the Forum’s readiness to collaborate with Northern Governors and the FCT to drive development in the region.
The Kebbi State Chairman of ACF, Alhaji Abubakar Gwandu, also pledged the Forum’s full support for Governor Idris’ administration.
In his response, Governor Idris expressed delight at receiving the ACF delegation and reiterated his unwavering commitment to govern diligently and patriotically for the benefit of the people.
He described ACF as a strong partner in the progress of Kebbi and the North, assuring continued support for the Forum.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements in two years, the Governor said Kebbi had recorded progress in agriculture, education, infrastructure, and security.
According to him, over 500 trucks of fertilizer and more than 20,000 solar and CNG water pumps were distributed free to farmers. He added that the government had sustained free education, paid over ₦2.7 billion in scholarships and WAEC fees, and procured about 100 Toyota Hilux vehicles for security agencies.
Governor Idris further noted that his administration had transformed Birnin Kebbi with modern projects, including an ultra-modern Secretariat Complex and a new Motor Park, while also sustaining major cultural festivals such as the Argungu International Fishing Festival of Argungu Emirate, the Hutungo Fulani Festival of Gwandu Emirate and the Rigatta Festival of Yauri Emirate.
