The Borno State chapter of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has lauded Governor Babagana Zulum for his unwavering efforts to improve the welfare of frontline health workers in the state.
During a press briefing, Deputy Chairman Comrade Sa’idu H. Gwalan, speaking on behalf of the association’s Chairman, Comrade Muhammad Yaro, highlighted the governor’s proactive steps, particularly the introduction of a new salary structure, as a major milestone in strengthening the healthcare system.
He acknowledged the existing challenges in the health sector, including workforce shortages, inadequate salaries, and limited resources, but praised the governor’s commitment to resolving them.
Gwalan confirmed that the association had recently engaged with the governor, who assured them of continued reforms and recruitment drives to bolster healthcare delivery.
He also expressed optimism that the government would curb the rising trend of health workers leaving the state for better opportunities elsewhere.
