Kebbi Police Gun Down Three Lakurawa Bandits, Foil Attack in Dandi LGA

 

In a bold offensive against violent crime, operatives of the Kamba Division in Kebbi State successfully neutralized three suspected Lakurawa bandits during a fierce gunfight in Gorun Yamma village, Dandi Local Government Area.

The incident, which occurred on October 3, 2025, followed an intelligence alert that the gang had invaded the village.

This is contained in a statement Signed by the police public relations officer CSP Nafiu Abubakar and issue to newsmen on Friday.

Acting swiftly, Divisional Police Officer SP Mohammed Bello Lawal mobilized a joint team of officers and vigilantes to confront the attackers. The ensuing gun battle forced the bandits to retreat, leaving three dead and others fleeing with serious injuries. One unregistered red Honda motorcycle, commonly associated with terrorist elements, was recovered at the scene.

Commending the team’s quick response, Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, praised the bravery and professionalism shown by the operatives, urging them to maintain their vigilance and collaboration with local security outfits. He directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Birnin Kebbi for deeper probing.

The CP reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to ensure safety in the state and called on the public to support security efforts by promptly reporting suspicious activities.
