The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has voiced serious concern over the alarming rise in political violence and insecurity, urging swift and decisive action to curb the trend.
This was disclosed during a press conference held after the party’s stakeholders’ meeting on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi.
Representing the party, Chiroman Kabi, Ibrahim Mohammed-Mera, emphasized that the gathering focused on the deteriorating security landscape and increasing incidents of politically motivated attacks.
He condemned a recent incident in Argungu, where suspected political thugs attacked people during a wedding ceremony held in a mosque an act he described as utterly unacceptable.
Mohammed-Mera criticized any political figure found supporting or sponsoring such acts and stated that ADC fully condemns these violent occurrences while advocating for peace across the state.
He also cited the recent killing of a Nigerian soldier in Sakaba LGA as further evidence of the worsening insecurity that must be urgently addressed.
