The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M. Sani, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, presented cheques totaling ₦33,816,610.97 to 50 families of police officers who lost their lives in active service.
The financial support, presented under the Group Life Assurance and Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Family Welfare Schemes, is aimed at assisting the families of officers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty.
Speaking during the presentation, CP Bello Sani commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, for his consistent commitment to the welfare of officers and their families. He described the IGP as a compassionate leader whose dedication has continued to uplift the morale and performance of police personnel across the country.
“The IGP’s magnanimity has brought immense relief and joy to many families,” CP Sani said. “We pray Almighty Allah continues to bless and guide him as he strives to improve the lives of officers and their loved ones.”
He further urged the beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds, advising them to invest wisely in ventures that would secure the future of their families.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Sonnen Simeon Mome expressed deep appreciation to the IGP for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. He assured that the beneficiaries would make the best use of the funds to improve their families’ welfare.
The event underscores the police leadership’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of its personnel, both serving and retired, as well as the families of those who have fallen in service to the nation.
