Governor Nasir Idris Flags off Badminton Championship

Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu of Kebbi State has flagged off a Badminton Championship involving 135 clubs from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

This is contained in a statement Signed by the chief press secretary to the deputy governor’s office Murtala M Gotomo and Made available to Newsmen on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, represented the Governor at the flag-off ceremony held at the Badminton Hall in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.

Senator Umar Tafida emphasized that the Kebbi State Government prioritizes sports activities, assuring continued support for the event to engage the youth.

Earlier, the State Chairman of the Badminton Association and Commissioner of Finance, Abubakar Chika, stated that about 135 clubs from across the nation would participate in the championship.

He thanked the state government under the leadership of Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, for its continued support for Badminton sports in the state.
