The Chairman, African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kebbi State chapter, Abubakar Issa iko has described His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris as a visionary leader, who always has the interest of the masses at heart.
He disclosed this on Thursday at Government House Birnin Kebbi when he led executive members of ADC on a sympathy visit to the governor over the release of abducted 24 schoolgirls of Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga.
The chairman said that in spite of political differences, it was extremely necessary to unveil the truth and “call a spade a spade”, adding that Kaura deserves special commendation from the good people of Kebbi State.
“We are here to sympathise with you and to congratulate you over the kidnap and release of the 24 abducted girls of Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga. There is no doubt, you have played a crucial and very important role to ensure that these girls are released unharmed.
“We have to commend your good efforts. It shows that you are a good and reliable leaders, a leader who cares for his people, a leader who always listen to the plights of his people.
“It is on record that you have transformed not only the state capital but each of our four Emirates have their own potion of projects, well-done Your Excellency, you are doing well,” he said.
The chairman said that ADC must put the record straight, adding that the party was in Government House to sympathise with the governor over the Maga school abduction.
He assured the governor that as far “as the party is concerned, as at now, we have no gubernatorial candidate. ADC has not yet to recognise anybody as its candidate for the 2027 general elections.
“People cannot stay in Abuja and claiming that they have declare their intention to contest for governorship position in Kebbi State.
“For anybody to contest for governorship position, such member must be a bonafide member of the party,” he said.
Responding, the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris commended the ADC exco members for coming to sympathise with him and the good people of Kebbi State over the abduction of Maga students.
He said his administration was doing everything possible to run an all inclusive government, where everybody was carried a long, adding that his government would continue to carry all manner of people along regardless of political affiliation.
The governor stressed the need for ADC and all other opposition parties to join hands with his government to bring positive development to Kebbi State.
He, however, pressed the doggedness of ADC executives, who according to him, exhibited an act of “politics without bitterness” and urged them to sustain the tempo for the good of the state.
