The Kebbi State Police Command has assured residents of Bagudo and the entire state that the security situation is under control following an early morning explosion at the General Hospital, Bagudo, on Tuesday, 30th December 2025.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, a joint security team comprising Police, Military, and Vigilante personnel responded swiftly by cordoning off and securing the affected area.

Specialist teams from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal–Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) unit were deployed to assess the situation thoroughly.

The Command confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident. Although one building in the hospital’s staff quarters was damaged, the occupants had safely evacuated prior to the explosion.

To maintain peace and prevent panic, the Commissioner of Police has directed additional tactical deployments in the area, while a comprehensive investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the explosion.

The Command urged the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate vicinity of the hospital to allow security and emergency teams to complete their work.
