Some members of the opposition PDP and ADC in Sokoto State have reportedly expressed regret over their failure to apply for job opportunities earlier advertised by the state government.
This disclosure was made by the Senior Special Adviser on Strategic Communications to the Sokoto State Governor Nurudeen Muhammad Mahe while speaking with The Nations Voice newspaper.
According to him, a recent assessment revealed that several opposition members refrained from applying for the employment exercise due to fears of marginalization or perceived political bias.
However, the release of the recruitment results has shown that the exercise was conducted strictly on merit, with no regard for political party affiliation.
The recruitment outcome indicated that all qualified applicants were employed based solely on competence and eligibility, dispelling claims of discrimination and political exclusion. As a result, those who chose not to participate are now expressing deep regret over their decision.
The development, the adviser noted, underscores the transparency, fairness, and inclusiveness of the administration of Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu, PhD, FCNA, which he said stands in sharp contrast to what he described as discriminatory practices under the previous PDP-led government.
He added that the exercise further demonstrates the present administration’s commitment to running an all-inclusive government that prioritizes merit, equity, and equal opportunities for all citizens of Sokoto State.
