A young man identified as Yasir has been found dead in Mabera Area of Sokoto State under circumstances that remain unclear.
The Nation’s Voice gathered that the deceased, whose full details were still sketchy at the time of filing this report, was discovered on Thursday at the residence of his brother in Mabera.
Sources revealed that Yasir had recently graduated from the Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, and was in Sokoto for a two-month internship attachment at the time of the incident.
According to an anonymous source, Yasir was alone in his room, which was locked, but was found in toilet slaughtered when the tragic incident occurred.
He was later found dead with severe injuries.
“He was supposed to spend just two months for his attachment, but unfortunately, his life has come to an end. We don’t know exactly what happened or who was responsible, but the police are on top of the situation,” the source said.
Residents of the area have expressed shock over the incident, raising questions about how such a tragedy could have occurred.
Police authorities have since visited and vacated the residence, while investigations are ongoing.
When contacted, the Sokoto State Police Command, through its spokesperson, DSP Ahmad Rufai, confirmed the incident, adding that its personnel are on top of the situation and that investigations are ongoing.
