The people of Zauro in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area have commended the Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, particularly through the recent distribution of massive Ramadan palliatives across the state.
They described the distribution of 6,500 tonnes of assorted grains as a remarkable intervention that has reached all segments of society and brought relief to families during the holy month of Ramadan.
In the same vein, the community also praised the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Alhaji Shafiu Dan Malam Zauro, for complementing the Governor’s gesture by distributing food items to 1,500 beneficiaries in his hometown of Zauro on Sunday.
The items distributed included 1,500 bags of 50kg rice and 1,500 cartons of spaghetti, which were shared among religious leaders, Imams, persons with special needs, APC ward executives, organisations and other individuals.
The community described the Special Adviser as a worthy ambassador of Governor Idris in Zauro.
Speaking at the event on , Alhaji Usman Magatakarda, in his welcome address, applauded Governor Idris for the large-scale Ramadan palliative programme and commended Hon. Shafiu Dan Malam Zauro for his patriotic leadership and personal generosity.
He noted that the developmental strides being witnessed in Zauro under the present administration were unprecedented, adding that Shafiu Zauro had also made significant contributions through the donation of food items, motorcycles, housing support and other empowerment initiatives aimed at reducing hardship in the community.
Also speaking, the Secretary of APC Zauro Ward, Alhaji Abbas Shehu, expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Shafiu Dan Malam for his continued support to the people. He highlighted the Special Adviser’s earlier donations of more than 20 motorcycles and other forms of assistance to residents, describing his efforts as exceptional and worthy of emulation.
He called on the people to remain united and continue supporting the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris and the APC for sustained progress and inclusive governance.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the distribution, Hon. Shafiu Dan Malam Zauro thanked Governor Nasir Idris for creating the enabling environment and inspiring political office holders to always give back to society.
He said the Governor’s encouragement has continued to motivate him to support his people, stressing that beyond the Ramadan palliatives, he had undertaken other interventions in the area, including youth empowerment, donation of motorcycles and the construction of solar-powered water pumps. He urged beneficiaries not to sell the items but to use them to support their families during Ramadan.
Beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed gratitude to Hon. Shafiu Dan Malam Zauro for the kind gesture and also offered prayers for Governor Nasir Idris, chanting solidarity songs in appreciation of the administration’s people-oriented policies and commitment to the welfare of the citizens.
