Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the trajectory of development across the state despite ongoing campaigns of calumny by detractors.
The Governor made this known in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday when he received the Kauran Gwandu Coordinators from the 21 Local Government Areas of Kebbi State, along with their executives on a courtesy visit, at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
The delegation was led by the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Musa Muhammad Tungulawa, who also serves as Chairman of the Kaura Coordinators.
Governor Idris stressed that Kebbi belongs to all citizens, and no disgruntled elements will deter his administration from executing vital projects to develop the state.
He emphasized that state resources belong to the people, who deserve a more comfortable life through responsible governance.
He pledged not to waiver in sustaining ongoing projects across all sectors, adding that he will remain faithful to the social contract he signed with the people who entrusted him with their mandate.
The Governor expressed deep appreciation to the Coordinators for their tireless efforts during the 2023 elections and their continued support since then.
He urged them to remain united and committed to the party, noting that both the APC-led government in the state and at the national level are determined to deliver more dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
Dr. Idris described the negative propaganda of some “doubting Thomases” as futile, reaffirming his resolve to remain pious, diligent, and patriotic in service. He further noted that Kebbi State abhors politics of violence, assuring that his administration will continue to prioritize peace and security.
According to him, insecurity is not peculiar to Kebbi State, but his government has intensified efforts to address the challenge because no society can develop without peace. He also disclosed that three foreign companies will soon commence operations in the state, expected to generate over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.
‘I vow to remain resolute and resilient in moving Kebbi State to greater heights, regardless of attempts by disgruntled and unpatriotic elements to distract his administration ‘, he assured.
Earlier, Hon. Musa Muhammad Tungulawa said the visit was to reaffirm their loyalty and support to the people-oriented Governor, whose priority has remained the equitable development of the state.
He commended Dr. Idris for delivering massive infrastructural projects in just two years, describing his performance as outstanding.
“We are satisfied with your glaring achievements and have no regrets supporting you in 2023 and beyond. You have fulfilled your campaign promises and even gone beyond them.
‘ We are proud of you, and by God’s will, we are only waiting for 2027 for you to continue the good works you have started,” Tungulawa stated.
The association presented an award to the Governor in honor of his selfless service to humanity.
