Kebbi Govt to partner Federal Agric Varsity for agricultural revolution

The Kebbi State Governor, Comerade Dr Nasir Idris has assured the readiness of his Government to partner with the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru towards the attainment of agricultural revolution.

He stated this on Thursday while receiving members of the Governing Board of the university, who paid him a courtesy call at Government House Birnin Kebbi.

He described partnership on agriculture as a necessary path to achieving food security in the state and the country at large.

“We all know that Kebbi State is an agricultural state and this partnership will help us in achieving our set goals and objectives of national food security,” he said.

The governor gave the Ministry of Land two weeks directive to end the crisis of land that belongs to the university.

“You people should ensure that within two weeks you have conclude the issue of land that belongs to the university, and ensure payment of compersetion,” he said.

In her remarks, the chairman Governing Council of the university and also the Pro-Chancillor, Hajiya Hazizat Raji thanked the governor for the hospitality accorded to them.

She commended the governor for the good work he has been doing to the people of Kebbi State, assuring that the institution would partner with the state government to boost food security.

“You Excellency, partnership with Kebbi State Government will certainly enhance the transformation agenda of government, especially on food security,” she noted.
