The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network in Sokoto State has officially inaugurated a new State Coordinator, marking the beginning of what members describe as a renewed chapter of unity, strategic growth, and community impact.
In his inaugural remarks, the newly appointed Coordinator Maccido Bello expressed deep gratitude to members for their trust and support, emphasizing that the responsibility of leadership belongs to the entire network.
“This responsibility belongs to all of us, and our success will be built on unity, active participation, and shared vision,” he stated.
Bello outlined an ambitious roadmap focused on developing practical and workable plans, reconnecting members across the state, strengthening the network’s internal structure, and building strategic partnerships to deliver impactful community projects throughout Sokoto State.
He further called on members to remain actively engaged, contribute ideas, and volunteer for upcoming programs, assuring them that YALI Sokoto will be a platform where everyone is valued, empowered, and given opportunities to serve and grow.
“As the Muslim holy month of Ramadan approaches, the leadership announced that immediate activities will center on strengthening partnerships and paying courtesy visits to past leaders of the network” he said.
Bello also revealed plans to convene the first general meeting under the new administration. The meeting will outline strategic priorities and establish non-executive committees including Leadership, Programs, Partnerships, Media, and Disciplinary Committees drawing members from past leaders and the broader network.
According to the Bello, these steps are designed to revive the spirit of volunteerism and restore the network’s vibrancy across Sokoto State, In sha Allah.
The inauguration signals a renewed commitment by YALI Sokoto to youth leadership, civic engagement, and sustainable community development in the state.
