The YALI Network Sokoto has reiterated its dedication to advancing youth development after paying a strategic courtesy visit to its pioneer coordinator, Umar Idris.
During the visit on Tuesday, the delegation engaged Idris who is also the Executive Director of the 21st Century Entrepreneurs Hub in discussions centered on strengthening partnerships and designing impactful programs.
Key focus areas included leadership development, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement initiatives tailored to empower youths in Sokoto.
The meeting also featured productive deliberations ahead of the upcoming YALI Sokoto Alumni Connect 1.0, an event expected to bring together young leaders and changemakers to foster networking and knowledge exchange.
Reflecting on his journey, Idris shared insights into his early days of volunteerism with YALI, highlighting how the experience significantly shaped his personal and professional growth.
His dedication to community service earned him recognition as a 2020 award-winning United Nations Volunteer.
An alumnus of the YALI Regional Leadership Center Accra (18th Cohort), Idris continues to serve as a source of inspiration to emerging leaders across Sokoto State.
The YALI Network Sokoto team, under the leadership of State Coordinator Maccido Bello, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and valuable guidance received during the visit.
Bello noted that strengthening collaboration with past leaders remains essential to expanding the network’s reach and sustaining its impact on youth development in the region.
